David Goodyear

David has 30 years experience in the Banking Industry covering senior roles in Risk Management, Operations and Treasury & Trading.

He is head of Aspiro’s Risk & Control practice.

He has successfully led programmes including opening offices in Saudi Arabia, Dubai & Turkey from a Risk and Operations perspective.  Recently he advised a leading Japanese Bank on setting up their KSA unit.

His interests include the regulatory conformity for Risk Frameworks, Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk and Operational Resilience (including Business Continuity).

He is a highly experienced General Manager and Risk SME from both a first and second line perspective and adds value through a balanced, collaborative approach to identify a coherent way forward for the financial institution.

Key areas of expertise include: risk appetite framework, enterprise risk, operational risk including risk control self-assessment, resilience, operations management, liquidity risk and contingency plans, onboarding of major asset acquisitions, business continuity management, market and credit portfolio risk.

Ashish brings 25+ years of experience in Banking and Financial Services across Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking, Investment Banking, Insurance and Pension Funds. He has created and led management teams across geographies as well as served clients across UK, EU, US, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman and India. He has been driving strategic change initiatives and transformation projects, with a focus on delivering impactful agile value-driven solutions in dynamic environments, resulting in combined benefits to clients totaling over $1.5 million. His extensive experience in enterprise wide GRC, assessments, thematic reviews, audits, policies, procedures, risk systems, ESG reporting, cybersecurity, AML, financial crime, business continuity and operational resilience, have contributed to improving client’s risk maturity levels by 25%-75%.

Ashish has held senior leadership positions at Fidelity International, BlackRock, Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO, having setup and led global teams and has been a key member of Boards and Committees for Governance and oversight roles. He has a hobby for executive coaching, having been involved in pro-bono coaching projects with the United Nations for businessmen and women from Africa, and students from the Indian Institute of Management.

He is a Chartered Accountant, a PG Diploma holder in business Management, Harvard APAC Leadership Cohort leader, an International Coaching Federation credentialed Professional Certified Coach (PCC).
